I ordered this phone on the 23/09/2012 (Sunday) and it arrived on the 27/09/2012 (Thursday). It arrived in a reasonably sized box. In the box there is a charger that has three switch-able heads for different plug sockets. The charger itself is made up of the plug and a USB cable. The USB cable can be used to attach the phone to a computer. There is also a hand wind-up charger that can be used in emergencies to provide the battery with enough life power to make an important/emergency call. The box that I received didn't contain a manual but it did contain a small leaflet with diagrams to show the different buttons and features of the phone in several different languages.The phone itself is quite chunky. This is exactly what I was expecting and I am satisfied with look and feel of the handset. The keys are a decent size and spaced apart to make pressing the buttons easier and even possible whilst wearing gloves of an average thickness.I haven't had a chance to put the phone to the test physically yet but it seems like it could take several beatings.As for the functionality, I feel that the phone lets itself down. When receiving calls or messages, the name of the contact is not displayed. Only the owner's mobile number appears. This is a massive issue for people that have many contacts and need to communicate regularly. After contacting JCB about the issue, they explained that the phone may need a 'software flash upgrade'. I will probably have to send the handset off for this which will render me 'phone-less' yet again for an unknown amount of time.Unlike the original Sitemaster, the 3G version doesn't have a laser which I was mislead to believe. This will not be an issue for many people but I just thought that I would clear things up. The button for the laser on the Sitemaster seems to have been replaced with a button for the camera on the 3G upgrade.Apart from the issues mentioned above, I am satisfied with the phone. I won't go into detail with all of the features but if it weren't for the contact issue then I would happily recommend this phone to people who require a Toughphone.

I had the original JCB phone which i was quite impressed with. I managed to break it on a drunken adventure after over a year of use on building sites so i thought i would get another. I decided to upgrade and get the one with the camera big mistake.1: you can't turn the keypad tone noise off which is very annoying especially every time i bend down it beeps.2: The battery does not last as long as the original probably because its constantly beeping.3: It no longer automatically's locks it self after use.4: The torch turns it self off after being on for twenty seconds.(Never had a problem with the old torch coming on in my pocket so why make it turn off after twenty seconds.)5: Camera takes a long time to take pictureI would have gave it one star but it is still a tough phone and it looks better all in black. That beeping tho is making me want to see how much damage this phone can take before breaking, beep bloody beep.

robust phone with limited features

Does what i bought it for but you cant get drivers to connect it to your PC for contacts etc. The auto lock keypad does not work very well, and the browser screen is impossible to use.
