Great, great windows 8 phone.. great price.. music sound not perfect but can be rectified

This is an almost perfect first gen premium windows phone. It is bigger than the Nokia Lumia 920 and HTC 8X. It also has micro SD support, removable battery and front facing camera, which sets it apart from some of the other devices. It's very very similar to the samsung galaxy s3 and better than the s3 but not as good as the s4. Therefore it looks very nice. Delivery came from Germany and was prompt. The price was fantastic for a phone of this quality, brand new and sim free. Well worth buying a new contract and selling whatever phone you get and then using the cash to buy this instead, and maybe even get some cash back!Obviously the phone uses Microsoft Windows (phone) 8. The OS choice of Windows, Android, iOS, Symbian etc etc is a seperate issue and is down to personal preference. Personally I love windows phone 8, however frustrating it is that it is the best OS, let down by some bizarre Microsoft omissions that could EASILY be rectified.. however that is a debate for another day.Back to the phone, it feels premium, with a very samsung galaxy quality to it. It is a bit more plasticy than the metal unibond body of other phones but perhaps this is one of the reasons why it feels very light to hold. The plastic back case, looks great and almost aluminium, but plastic it is and is very prone to scratches, so you will definitley want a good case for this phone (I use poetic slimbook). screen quality is very good (super Amoled), maybe not quite in the same league as the HTC One or S4 and also the resolution of Windows is not as high at the moment as high-end android devices. Battery life is decent but not fantastic. Stock samsung apps are very bland however but nothing that a trip to the app store can't solve. Camera quality is decent with 8 mega pixels given pretty sharp and colourful images. Storage is enough at 16mb and can expand up to 64gb via micro sd.In fact the only flaw in this phone is the sound quality. a HTC One this isn't. Of course it won''t have beats audio like the HTCs, but then again neither does the iPhone.. however the iphone has graphic EQ settings.. this phone DOESN'T. Windows doesn't even have a setting for this! Therefore even with excellent quality headphones such as Audio Technica MTH-50 or even Beats by Dre.. sound is still a bit of a let down.. Samsung should really release an app to provide some EQ settings to help out, not sure if this would make the sound 10x better but at least a step in the right direction... HOWEVER.....This was not insurmountable.. for a little over £20 I purchased the FiiO E06 portable amplifier (see that product for a review) which pretty much solved all the sound faults... admittedly you shouldn't need this and sound should be great from a premium device but for an extra £21 I'm not going to complain too much.....Overall VERY pleased with this purchase and could well be the best first gen Windows Phone 8 device... I've used a HTC 8X and 8S but not a Nokia 920.. I would have gone for the 920 but couldn't justify the near £500 price tag whereas this was around £260.. miles better value. Just wish Samsung would promote this device more and Windows Phone 8 was a lot more in the mainstream.
