Phone was locked and cost £16 to unlock here in KSA. We still have to sort internet access out with local provider but otherwise my son seems to like it.

If you want a mobile for e-mail and Google browsing, etc., then look no further.Personally, I want a phone to be a workhorse and would use a `tablet' for watching YouTube or for entertainment.This is a very easy phone to setup and use. I bought one that was unlocked as it then accepts SIMS from foreign countries where I travel. I just pop into a local phone shop; in say Paris, and buy a 20 euro sim, slot it in and hey presto, I have cheap local calls on whatever local network that gives the best service. For calls back home I use my UK sim-card.One great thing with BlackBerrys is that there are many good quality extras at reasonable prices. I bought a closing type case, screen protectors, 8GB memory card and spare battery for around £19 off Amazon and EBay - fabulous quality.I like the look of the phone even though it is a bit retro - it is an instance of `form following function'. IPhones for me are little more than a marketing tool to get you to spend money and do not fulfil my telephonic needs. The Bold 9900 does everything I need from a mobile phone and more.I have bought a small speaker and it is great to sit in a hotel room, stick to speaker on the mirror and to charge the phone while listening to music installed the memory stick which slots into the phone alongside the SIM. The cost of the memory card was £8.In short, quality, functional and economic to use worldwide.
