Worth the money

I have to admit to being picky and hard to please.I spent two weeks looking round the internet market till I found this. I needed a dual sim tablet phone and needed something with a GPS and a good camera.I feel that I made the right choice in buying this, but would probably have gone for a black one had there been one in stock at this price.I suggest you order a 32 GB micro card.Firstly the seller. TTSims are trustworthy and ensured a very fast and dependable delivery (next day-signed for,) however they are not technically minded so if there is a problem I think it unlikely they can advise. They will however accept returns if the item is faulty.Mine was perfect, well packed and came with two batteries, charger plus a UK 3 pin converter, and earphones with an extra long pin.The phone is an N9776 (CPU: MT6577) with a dual core ARMv7. The screen looks like glass but is not as colour intense or well defined as the more expensive models, but it does work adequately and everything works on it, and in it. The Jelly bean o/s is impressive. The build is solid and weighty, but it is the size of the thing that is impressive. After my galaxy mini, this is mammoth.Inside, you have a slide for the micro SD which as stated I would recommend a 32GB card.There are two slots for each sim and you can allocate the default one as well as switch them both off and on.Then the battery which seems to be holding it's charge reasonably well (3600mAh)I found the GPS to be very hard to get going, but after about 10 or more minutes it did pick up my position. I have since installed the app Turbo GPS 2 which actually finds the satellites much faster and kick starts the GPS into play.During phone calls, the device performs well, both parties could be understood and the volume worked well. The only disconcerting thing was that the display went blank as soon as I dialled and rang ...it turned out to be the proximity sensor setting which needed a tweak (To save battery power, the screen will go black when it knows the phone is at your cheek) So you just need to go into settings and under Display use the Als-ps calibration, put your hand about an inch above and over the sensor (front top right) on the phone then touch the calibrate button.Whether it is the Jelly bean or the device, I'm not sure, but there is so much to this handful of electronic wonder that it kept me occupied for two days getting to know all it's little secrets.I can't write this review without mentioning the camera. It is supposed to be back 5MP autofocus and a 0.3 front camera.However, what you get is a 1.2MP front camera, and a staggering 12MP back camera. Being a photographer, I can assure you that I did check this by placing my snaps onto Photoshop and indeed they are 12MP. Having said that the results are reasonably good, not staggeringly so, but this is a phone not a camera.All in all this is fantastic value for money, it has the look and feel of a competent device, the sellers are UK based, and for an equivalent named brand I would expect to pay upwards of £300 for an item of this ilk.If you buy, I don't think you will be disappointed. I ordered this phone yesterday late morning and it arrived within 24 hrs by the selected standard post, signed for.The review above is spot on so I can not really add or take anything away from but can confirm that which has already been said.The phone is LARGE, a screen size only one inch less than a Google nexus 7 tablet but offers the benefit of having a two sim phone with possibly a better camera and could therefore be considered a better all round device, all for less than £150.

I'm really pleased I purchased this, it does exactly what I wanted at a very good price. Basically, I think of it as a 3G-enabled mini-tablet with phone capability, GPS and a decent camera. The quality feels top notch.The 6 inch screen makes it very useful for web browsing and reading ebooks. The WiFi has a good range and I can use it all over the house. The quality of the picture is adequate, I would not say the colours were very vibrant or the resolution is brilliant. In addition, the screen does not perform well outside in direct daylight. For that reason, this device may not be suitable for an avid gamer or video-watcher.It works well as a phone in technical terms (once you have calibrated the proximity sensor) but be aware that the size can make it difficult to whip out of your pocket when it rings. If you like fiddling with your phone a lot for other reasons (eg. you listen to music a lot and constantly change tracks) this can also make it inconvenient.It can take 32GB micro SD. I had problems using an expensive Sandisk Class 10 version, I switched to a cheap generic brand and it works perfectly.I tried a lot of apps (not many games) and they all seem to work, except Skype (sign in taking ages or not confirmed) and 4OD (won't play the video) . Both these apps seem to be having problems according to Play Store, so it may not be the device itself that is at fault.It plays music well but be aware the earphone socket is slightly recessed and many earphones won't fit. The most straightforward solution is to use Bluetooth headphones or other headphones connected to a Bluetooth audio receiver. The only earphones I've tried so far which have a jack that fits the device (apart from the ones that were supplied with it) are the JVC GUMY brand.The micro USB socket for charging and data transfer is also slightly recessed. In order to use my existing micro USB charger (instead of the cable supplied with the phone) I carefully carved away at the plastic around the micro USB tip. This worked fine. I also thought about doing something similar on my earphones to make them fit the earphone socket, but found that it was actually the metal rim of the jack that was stopping it from properly engaging with the socket on the phone.The case/cover that comes with it is very nice but I'm not sure how low it will last and its does not cover the back camera. I bought a cheap polyurethane sleeve for a PS Vita to carry round the device in my pocket. The PS Vita is virtually the same width and a bit thicker and longer, and the sleeve fits this phone quite nicely.The battery life is pretty good if the phone is just on standby (mine can last a couple days). Using the screen in any way will of course tend to use up the battery, but it can do about 4 or 5 hours of web browsing on one charge so for me this is fine, and I just need to charge each night.I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the camera. It takes very fast shots (even indoors). The settings themselves actually go up to 12MP, but I'm not sure if this is true 12MP or interpolated in some way. It is worthwhile to learn a little bit about the camera settings though because by adjusting these appropriately, rather than relying on Auto, the quality is much better. Anyway, for picture quality, it outperforms any other 5MP (and is nearly as good as the best 8MP) phone camera I've seen. The only downsides are that the size of the phone can make it difficult to get stable pictures, you have to learn to hold it in the right way. In addition, because the screen is not great in direct daylight, you may have to turn the brightness as high as possible to take pictures outdoors - which will affect battery life.All in all, I think this device is great value. Just be aware of its limitations - it is miles better than branded phones at the same price-point but do not expect it to be the same as a Galaxy Note! Also, as mentioned, its size is a great asset, but think about buying something else if you receive or make a lot of calls or otherwise need a phone that is easy and convenient to handle.
